Just Do It… Anyway

The 4-Word Mantra That Beats “I Don’t Feel Like It” Every Single Time Nike gave us “Just Do It.”

Jerry and Russell just made it bulletproof by adding two letters: Anyway.

Because the real enemy isn’t laziness.

It’s the moment your emotions raise their hand and say, “Yeah… but I don’t feeeeeel like it today.”

That moment is where dreams go to die.

The Truth Jerry Lives By (and Russell Is Finally Learning).
You will never feel like doing the things that matter most.

  • Jerry does not feel like getting up at 4-5 a.m. every day. He’s done it for years.
  • He does not feel like hitting the gym seven days a week. He still does it.
  • Russell does not feel like practicing trumpet after a long dinner. He’s learning to do it anyway.

The difference between exceptional people and everyone else? Exceptional people let discipline cast the deciding vote. Average people let emotions win.

The 60–90 Day Rule That Rewires Your Brain

Jerry:

“You have to do it for 60 to 90 days where discipline rules emotions.
Then one day you wake up and you feel pretty damn good. That’s when the habit finally owns you instead of you owning the habit.”

Not a week.

Not 21 days of fairy-tale bullshit.

60–90 days of showing up when every cell in your body is screaming “tomorrow.” That’s the price. Most people aren’t willing to pay it.

Real-Life Sticky-Note Warfare (Old-School but Savage)

Jerry used to plaster sticky notes everywhere when he quit fast food cold-turkey:

  • On the car dash: “DON’T DO IT”
  • On the kitchen cabinet: “If you open this door, you’re going to die”
  • On the fridge, mirror, wallet—anywhere temptation lived.

Russell still has unopened cheese balls in the house just to prove the point: Environment design + visual violence against your old self = massive wins.
Your phone background, your bathroom mirror, your laptop lock screen—turn them into billboards that scream “DO IT ANYWAY” until the message is louder than your feelings.

How to Use “Do It Anyway” Starting Tonight

  • Pick the ONE habit you know would change everything if you actually did it consistently.
  • Write on a sticky note or phone lock screen:

“I don’t feel like it… and I’m doing it ANYWAY.”

  • When the feeling hits (and it will), read the note out loud, then move your feet.
  • Stack 60–90 wins. No negotiations.

The magic isn’t in feeling motivated. The magic is in becoming the kind of person who does the right thing even when motivation is on vacation.

Just do it… anyway.

Because how you do one thing is how you do everything.

What’s your “anyway” commitment right now? Drop it in the comments—I’m holding you to it.
